Pakistan Railways has announced the restoration of Sir Syed Express, which will be operational from Karachi Cantonment and Rawalpindi.
According to the notification, the train will be restored from September 1.
Earlier, Pakistan Railways announced a significant reduction in fares for all classes of passenger trains, which will come into effect from Saturday, August 3.
In the new fare structure, AC class tickets have seen a reduction ranging from Rs 100 to Rs 150, which is a substantial saving for passengers travelling in the premium class. Meanwhile, economy class fares have been reduced by Rs 50, making train travel more affordable for a wider segment of the population.
This fare reduction is applicable to all passenger trains operating across the country, with the aim of encouraging more people to use rail services and easing the financial burden on regular commuters.
A Pakistan Railways spokesperson said: “The decision to reduce fares is part of our ongoing efforts to make rail travel more accessible and affordable for all. We hope that this initiative will not only benefit our passengers but also boost the overall usage of our rail services.”
The new fares will come into effect on Saturday, August 3, and passengers are encouraged to take advantage of the reduced fares for their travel plans.
